Almost a millennium after the Viking Age, Vikings are everywhere.
In museums and films. In music, tattoos, fashion, and design. In tourism, politics, and popular culture. But perhaps they are even more present in something less visible: the way we think, work, communicate, and trust one another, and how we navigate the tension between fierce independence and a strong sense of community.
*Modern Vikings* explores the fascinating space between history and identity—as well as the meaning of the term “Viking” today—taking you on a journey from the Viking Age to the present day.
Along the way, the book distinguishes between history and myth, fact and fantasy, and genuine cultural heritage versus what Hollywood has taught us to believe.
But this is not a book about looking back. It is a book about looking forward. It is about the legacy we reinterpret and build upon.
For, after all, we are still Vikings.

& Norse Mythology Encyclopedia
You’ve seen the movies, now read the book!
We’re peeling back the layers to reveal the real Vikings.
Expect a thrilling mix of new underground archaeology and historical facts that are anything but boring.
And because you’re here for the good stuff, we’re also diving headfirst into the mythical sagas and epic tales that truly defines the Norse world.
Prepare for a longboat trip that’s equally enlightening and entertaining.
Ásatrú—Norse mythology—is not merely a collection of entertaining tales about ancient gods; it forms the foundation of much of the culture that surrounds us today.
By reading about this mythology, you gain insight into the deep roots of the Scandinavian language and the traditions we still carry with us.
Unlike many other religions, the Norse gods are neither perfect nor omnipotent; they are fallible, mortal, and relatable. They lie, drink to excess, and quarrel, and their stories revolve around greed, love, jealousy, and courage.
This book serves as both a reference work and a narrative history.

Rockstar stories from a thousand years ago
I am not here to tell you the truth. I am here to tell you some amazing stories.
Most of the people and events I share in this book lived about a thousand years ago.
None of them kept a diary, and not even the people around them wrote about them.
The only written accounts we have come from their enemies and from Danish or Icelandic saga writers centuries later.
We have a few archaeological finds that support some of these accounts, but only regarding their existence—not the details of the events themselves.
So, I will do what saga writers have always done: retell the story to the best of my ability, and for your entertainment.
