Ride with a Viking

We ride Icelandic horses into the unique nature of southernmost Amager, find a place to light a fire, and eat authentic Viking food while we get a story or two from the Viking Age.

Along the way, you will get stories and funny details about the Viking Age, and the opportunity to get answers to all your questions.

The experience takes about four hours, and it is important that you provide your age, weight, height and riding experience when registering, so that we can find the right horse for you.

It is recommended to wear appropriate clothing for the weather, preferably tight long pants and suitable shoes.

Arranged in conjunction with Amager Naturridning.

Bike with a Viking

A guided historical bike tour in Copenhagen where you get the whole story from the myths and realities of the Viking Age, through the lost wars of the Renaissance and the occupation, to modern Copenhagen, with Kalvebod Wave, CopenHill and the driverless Metro; “The World’s Happiest Capital”, “The World’s Architecture Capital”, “The World’s Best Cycling City”, etc.

You will understand how the Viking Age mindset has helped shape today’s Copenhagen urban planning and edge zones.

The tour takes approx. three hours and starts/ends at Fortunstræde 1, right by Nikolaj Church.

Organized in collaboration with beCopenhagen.

Sail with a Viking

We look at the ships that were sunk in Roskilde Fjord to prevent an attack in 1060, and get the story behind the ships and the sinking.

We also look at the workshop where exact copies of the ships are made with authentic methods and tools, and of course we put on a life jacket and sail out onto the fjord in a real Viking ship – where everyone helps row, set sail and tack.

Along the way you will get stories and funny details about the Viking Age, and the opportunity to get answers to all your questions.

The experience takes about four hours, and there will be the opportunity to buy snacks and drinks in the museum’s café.

Storytelling

Go East, Women of the Viking Age or Go North – or a completely different Viking-related topic that is tailored to your wishes.

Viking Soul

Norwegian Viking Queen Evie Louise Madsen and Vikingologist Hasse “Hassan” Sørensen are holding the seminar “Viking Soul” to clarify how pan-European concepts such as “feminine and masculine values” have crippled and obscured the perception of equality that is natural in the Nordic world.

We talk about “the sea” and “the ship”, and how mutual respect strengthens each other’s and our own inner strengths.

Women can do what men can, and vice versa, but that does not mean that we should be clones of each other. Many men in particular have gotten lost in this complex and are looking for a guide in the gender jungle.

We do not aim for equality but for equal value.

Date and place will follow soon. If you want more information, you can call Hasse on 31 50 20 15.

Private Events

For private companies, associations and businesses.

All of these experiences can of course be booked as private; adapted to your specific wishes for time, duration and content.

Storytelling and Workshops can be held at a location of your choice.
